The Burgemeester Marnixschool is a primary school, combining the strongest aspects of both the Flemish and the Dutch school system. They strive for educational excellence, engaging themselves to develop children into well-rounded, balanced adolescents, in harmony with themselves and their surroundings. Marnixschool approached BlueJay for an update to their original logo and school branding. We started from the original logo, a bird, and aimed for an incorporation of elements valued by the school board: education, growth, playfulness and the five values they hold in high regard.
Logo Development
Concluding the original design cycle BlueJay adapted the logo to a version useable in a variety of contexts.
Five Key Values
The Burgemeester Marnixschool focuses their education around five key values, they wish to instil in the pupils. These five values, well-being, initiative, knowledge development, awareness and creativity, needed to be reflected in the eventual logo design and related projects.
School Site
The school website and mobile site were updated and harmonised to the new design.
Sportswear
The Burgemeester Marnixschool is an active participant in school outings and sports events. BlueJay updated the design.
Collateral
Along with the logo update, all print collateral was redesigned.

Illustrations
Along with a website, an illustrational style was developed that suited the new logo. The style is kept playful, reminiscent of children's paper cutting techniques.
