Travel Blog Concept - Interaction Design

Travel Content Marketing concept | Interaction design
The design approach on a travel blog should reflect the excitement, joy of exploration and relaxation of traveling, so an optimistic green-blue-red and light gray tones palette on white base should be used. Since most of the color in such a blog comes from the travel pictures themselves, the UI elements should be discreet regarding their tones but prominently placed ( especially the CTAs ) in order to be visible at the same time.
Due to the size of a travel experience article ( and especially comparative travel articles ) along with its accompanying pictures, a clean design approach with mostly white backgrounds is recommended in order to:

1. Achieve a clean, high contrast UI for our small-screen mobile readers that won’t be tedious to scroll from top to bottom at the same time
2. Confine the sheer volume of article pictures elegantly in horizontal image sliders where possible for a highly readable page with reasonable amount of vertical scroll for smartphones.
3. Allow us to place prominently suggested articles and tours in order to improve our engagement KPIs.

Audience
According to the brief the blog audience is fairly broad, so we are designing for m/f prospect travelers 18 - 45+ ranging from backpackers/ adventurers to families looking for urban tours and destinations.
These visits come mostly from social media and newsletter user bases, so we aim to facilitate the sharing and recommendation of our content and the consequent new e-mail registrations in order to generate more leads and thus gain access to new users.

Since the majority of our visitors use mobile devices to access our website it is essential to have our platform based on a responsive HTML framework ( like Bootstrap ) that can deal automatically with all the different device sizes.
