W. District is an exhibition about the history of the wonderful sport of Tennis starting in the Wimbledon District of London. This exhibition will be featured in the Atlanta History Center for the month of March in 2019. Visitors are able to explore their way around the four levels, learning about tennis rules, swings, key players, and some historical facts.
In order for my visual solution to work, I had to choose a minimal approach with a lot of white background space. The minimal approach represents the minimal look of a tennis court. The white is representative of the normally all white uniforms that tennis players wear while on the court. I had to find a way to bridge the minimal look to the historic facts, and using photography with a halftone effect worked perfectly. This exhibit will welcome people of all ages, and the lines on the court that I added, really invite guests to experience tennis for themselves.
