Tendo por base a história João e o Pé de Feijão, realizaram-se estudos que permitiram transpor para um conjunto de suportes diferenciados o universo visual e conceptual que emana do texto, adaptando e reescrevendo-o de forma a desenvolver linhas de merchandising.

Based on the fairytale Jack and the Beanstalk, research was made to implement in a set of different media the visual and conceptual universe that emanates from the text, adapting it and rewriting it in a way for developing merchandising.

Um conto com que sobreviveu desta forma ao tempo tem que ter algo (mágico) que o permite. Muitas destas histórias resistem graças á sua moral, ou a algo ético que ensinam, não é o caso. Fala de uma história que nada tem para ensinar a não ser que é bom sermos ambiciosos mesmo que isto signifique roubar o alheio. No entanto achei o conto deveria ser respeitado e para isso ilustrei de forma bastante trabalhada as personagens assim como a simbologia que transmitia. O ambiente geral que todo o grafismo transmite é de algo antigo, devido aos tipos de letra escolhidos.

A tale that survived the obstacle of time must have something (magic) that allows it to live. Most of this stories only resist due to their moral, or something ethical that they teach, this is not the case. The tale speaks of a story that has nothing to teach unless that it is good to be ambitious even if it means to steal from someone. Nevertheless I found that we should respect such a tale, and for that I illustrated in a very vintage look the characters as the symbology they represent. The general mood that the entire graphics conveys is of something antique, due to the chosen typography.

Na embalagem do Vaso e Feijões, as instruções para criar um feijoeiro mágico são retratadas com algum humor, nos lados estão as representadas as fases de crescimento, ou seja, o feijão e logo a seguir o feijoeiro crescido, desta forma mostrando a rapidez do crescimento.

In the Vase and Beans packaging, the instructions to create a similar beanstalk are pictured with some humor, on the sides there are represented it's growing stages, which are, the bean and right after the grown beanstalk, picturing the rapidness of its growth.

House of cards

Foram feitas cartas (semelhantes ás de Eames) com as ilustrações criadas das personagens, algumas das personagens estão representadas por completo em algumas cartas, algumas das outras foram representadas como se fossem azulejos e desta forma criar um efeito de caleidoscópio. A embalagem que as contém é revestida de um padrão em losângulo feito com as galinhas.

There where created some cards (similar to the Eames cards) with some illustrations made from the characteristics of the characters, some of them are represented with the whole body, wile some where represented as regular tiles so to create a kaleidoscope look. The packaging that contains them is coated with a diamond shaped pattern made with the chickens.
