As much as I’ve always been a fan of Impressionism and it’s masters, I’ve never really got into the meanders of the techniques and whatnots involved into it. But this begun to change (really) recently. I’ve started engaging into a quasi-impressionistic approach applied to my illustration work, thanks to the epiphanical mentorship of my friend (a master of color and light) @maxulichney, who really inspired me to pursue studying color and values like I’ve never did before. Speaking of him, you’ve been hearing a lot about this dude recently on my feed, but the simple reason is because he RULES, check his IG and you’ll see why.

Here’s the first result of my studies (an older sketch that I’ve decided to use as the vessel for this experiment, as you’ll see in the timelapse process), in my attempt of absorbing the knowledge and filtering it through my own creative juices, to inject the painting with livid color mixes. Just a start! Will bring this subject more often as things develops.
