Mingas was born in Porto. For much of her lifetime she has been on the fringe of society. Nowadays she makes a living as a prostitute. As one of the models for ai Maria, she found herself again as part of society.

Filó was born in Angola, Africa. She's living in Portugal for several decades. The whole family loved to see mum's portrait at the city centre.
