Lighthouse Logos

The Lighthouse Logo project is an on-going project for me; it's simply a way for me to get out some creativity in a way that doesn't have to please anyone but me.

I was originally inspired by the project 10,000 lakes. This brave soul sought out to create one logo, every day, for the 10,000 lakes of Minnesota. My idea was to simply take the same amount of time - only an hour or two of work - to research one of the lighthouses of Massachusetts and create a logo for it.

Each lighthouse in Massachusetts has a special story to it. The people around Ten Pound Island lighthouse used to think that there was a sea monsters around it. Cape Poge Lighthouse was moved 8 times over the course of it's life. The Scituate Lighthouse holds a story of young girls and the British Army. And Deer Island Lighthouse, the first island logo you'll see, is surrounded in storeis of deer seeking refuge and Indians dying on the island from exile.

I'll keep adding lighthouses to the list as I find times that I need to release some creativity without judgement or worry. Never underestimate the power of free-flowing creativity - it makes you feel pretty damn good.
