Telecom Birzha is a Moscow telecommunications service provider that creates IT infrastructure for large businesses by operating its own dark fiber optic network. Company clients include well-known banks, data centers, mobile providers and market giants owning large traffic volumes like Mail.Ru Group, VKontakte and RBC. Total length of Moscow network is 1,500 km with 200 km accounting for Tinkoff Bank.
We had to upgrade the existing logo and develop a modern brand identity by finding a vibrant solution so that it fairly presents brand nature and its new objectives and looks equally well on any carrier.
We made the metaphor of the logo more specific by complementing three optic fiber lines with a connecting target point. To make the logo really efficient, we had to make it adaptable by working out options for various carriers, color backgrounds, app and social media icons.
Based on shapes of letters in the logo, we created a full-fledged branded font, including Cyrillic characters, numbers and punctuation marks.
Branded font also includes many double letters for the Cyrillic and the Latin alphabets.
In addition to the basic font, we created a jobbing font as well. The main feature of this typeface is the ability to stretch turning any phrase into a work of typographic art.
Variable fonts are a new technology, which has not gone mainstream yet. This design element helps to highlight that the company is keeping track of new technologies and utilizes advanced solutions in all spheres.
The logo and brand fonts are mirrored in icons.
Specific details and the ability to change character widths make the font a powerful tool for a designer. Accent colors help to develop a contrast play as part of the brand identity.
