Art Deco at Morayta

Art Deco Architecture
at Far Eastern University

Far Eastern University has been a cradle of cultural heritage for preserving one of the few remaining traces of a visual style of architecture, Art Deco. Since the 1920s, the buildings and infrastructures of FEU, designed by National Artist Architect Pablo Antonio, have been torn and restored even after the war. These buildings mused the very characteristics of Art Deco: geometric forms, rounded corners, symmetrical figures.

When I captured the buildings, I focused on the characteristics of Art Deco and inevitably fell in love with the images that my lens revealed. I know I will always have the chance to revisit my Alma Mater and possibly capture new aesthetic angles from these historic buildings. The very first impression I had in mind when I was finally able to "see" these structures was, "Wow!"
When I come back, I know I would be bound to be awed even more.
