Pangaea Losgistic Solutions 635' bulk carrier ship, "Bulk Newport", delivers 50,000mt of road salts for road safety in southern New England during winter months. The vessel comes into the Narragansett Bay Anchorage area with the material. From Portsmouth, RI a shore crew works 24/7 operating the 4 cranes which offload the material to barges.
The barges are then transported to the offloading & material production site in Fall River, MA. From this location the various highway safety departments from MA & RI constantly load material and distribute to needed areas throughout the winter.
Client wanted to capture still & video imagery of the entire processs & of the vessel in port. During the shoot, the vessel had mechanical issues with 1 crane, our drone shooting the vessel was able to assist by quickly providing live feedback and the problem soon fixed. This lead to an over-all scan of the vessel before an overseas departure.
PROJECT NOTE - This shoot occurred during the coldest temperatures recored in 2018 for the area. Winds of over 36mph with windchills of -20F were the operating conditions throughout the shooting period.
