Made for Working Class Studio
Working Class Studio is a product development venture of the Savannah College of Art and Design that cultivates and promotes the work of talented SCAD student, alumni and faculty artists. An innovative concept for an educational institution, Working Class Studio marries function with fine art to deliver a well-curated, ever-expanding mix of original stationery and home décor lines sold in retail stores across the United States and internationally.
For our first project, we set out to create a personal accessory. I saw a void in the market in terms of wooden games. Not many companies produce/sell such a product and I think Working Class Studio can fill the niche.
The Erin Grace Collection Wooden Game Set is inspired by the 1940s sailors and pinup girls with a hipster twist that evokes the Working Class Studio artsy lifestyle. There are three elements to the Game set—the checkerboard and checkers, the playing cards, and the dominoes. Each element incorporates both the cornflower color and the slate color. These games are a great addition to a picnic in the park or any party and make a charmingly unique gift. Anyone from hipsters to Army Veterans will find something exciting in this set. Fun and hipster attire not included, bring your own!
All of these pieces were handmade by me- this includes the checkerboard, the checkers, the cards, the illustrations on the cards, the dominos, and the boxes.
