Orson Welles - "War of the Worlds" (1938)

This is a rendering of Orson Welles as he began his fake radio "broadcast" on flying saucers invading New York City on October 30, 1938. This might seem silly by today's standards, but this was a very frightening event for people who heard the broadcast back then, and there were even reports of some suicides resulting from the "news". Of course, Orson Welles would intermittently announce that this was just a dramatization, but unfortunately many people were so focused on the story that they simply didn't pay attention to this information.
