SUDDEN LONELINESS

The mushroom-like growth of shopping centers has been linked to globalization in recent decades. We can also perceive the centers of consumer society such spaces, which are loud from music, crowded with masses of people as in the past the markets were.

One evening I walked to the FORUM Debrecen plaza. I wanted to go in, but I saw that there were just a few people there and everything was closed. I went in just for curiosity.

The space occupied by humans is filled with life, with movement, noises from buyers and machines, and chaotic music out of the shops. The sight that was in front of my eyes had nothing to do with it. The mood of the place has captivated me, the phenomenon of how a building can be evacuated from one moment to the next, getting silent. In my photo series, I examine the problem of this fearful and surreal mood.

During the post-production I was relieved of reality. I tried to produce over-saturated neon colors. Cold colors dominate, purple shades intensify fear.
