"Reading is the most rewarding choice of transportation. If you want to explore unforeseen destinations, take the tram and read."

The Project

“A book is proof that humans are capable of working magic,” Carl Sagan asserted on Cosmos, admiring the uncanny power of written words to transport us, across time and space, to the mind of another.

Reading is one of the most rewarding pastimes that humanity has created, and the short trips on the tram are the perfect scenario to encourage this.  We’ll count a victory for every phone that is kept away in exchange for the company of these literary giants and creative misfits.

The Authors

We’ve chosen a broad selection of writers to show how vast and diverse is literature's immense power to expand our inner worlds. Books give us new lenses to gaze inside others people minds, but they’ll also let us look inside our own minds, with even greater clarity.

Broken-hearted musicians, drug-fueled journalist, drunk ass poets, philosophers as monumentally gifted as well as flawed. All these authors hold an extraordinary place in our hearts and left a powerful mark on us in one way or another.

The Zines

Every zine focuses on one author, including memorable quotes, powerful paragraphs, and compelling ideas. In the centre, you'll find a poster that you can hang on the wall. The author's face is covered here, as an invitation for the reader to discover them. Each package also includes stickers and a postcard with an envelope to spread the word.

The Creators

We grew up devouring books. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, a city packed with bookstores, libraries and a celebrated bookish tradition, it was easy to get lost in unknown literary waters. From children’s books to adult novels we disappeared into them, immersed in those exotic woods. And every time we would come out on the other side taking something with us, rebuilt in a new configuration of ourselves.

Lately, we packed our piles of books and our cats and came to live in The Netherlands. Through this project, we’re trying to give something back to our new home, and the best way we know to do so is by sharing our enthusiasm and admiration for the most rewarding pastime ever known.
