This is the photo I used as a reference for a project in my junior studio painting class.
After playing around with colors, this is the final sketch I decided to use to help me with a basic layout.
This is what the painting looked like after I carried out my initial idea. Around this time, I was having issues with matching some of the background colors so I left it like this for several weeks not knowing what to do with it.
I didn't care for this painting much the way it was so I decided to give it a new look. I love using patterns in my work and somehow they made their way into this painting as well.  I decided to go for a mosaic/ abstract look instead of making the background realistic. This is the finished version.
