For a project around our relationship with technology I did a day with out technology. Recording my day through my take on things I experienced, saw and heard. Using some symbolism and my interpretation of people and sounds. Using pen and lino cut shapes to add varying layers and textures.
I spent the day being annoyed with everyone else using their phones and became more aware to the everyday noises (and lack of notification sounds) from not having anything to look at when out and about. Relying on the birds on my roof to wake me up from not using my alarm. And not having a clue what time it was throughout the day anyway! One thing I definitely took from this is that the tech we use on a daily basis may distract us from as the bad, the boring and the annoying stuff. But sometimes the boring is good and thinking about stuff you might not want to think about from time to time is important.
