D.A.D Assignment 1

D.A.D Experimental Typography Assignment
For this assignment, we are required to create our own typography according to its theme and also include any art movement.

Theme:
Space & Time

Art Movement:
Geometric Art

The Big Bang Theory Inspired:
This was all inspired by a character named Sheldon Cooper when he first introduced on the Doppler Effect, from The Big Bang Theory on his halloween scene from Season 1.

The Doppler Effect:
It is basically the change in the frequency of an electromagnetic wave caused by relative motion between the source of the wave and the observer.

I decided to go for a theme that relates with the term the Doppler Effect in Astronomy.

The Doppler Effect in Astronomy (based on what I learned):
This concerns more on moving stars in the galaxy. Astronomer uses this effect to measure the distance of various stars (which is the source of the wave) from a certain specific point (this is the observer). The results provide information on stars by analysing the frequency of electromagnetic waves.

Applying Geometric Art Movement:
My typography is based from using geometric shapes which in this case, using lines and squares. The composition of their position defines no purpose and situated at random angles but kept consistent, this is why the typography are placed exactly the same if the lines/shapes are positioned similarly.

Font Name Origin:
The name originate from an Austrian mathematician and physicist, hence the chosen word clear is "Klar" in German, along with adding my initials for recognition.

I have incorporate the Doppler Effect and Geometric Art into my typography as shown below, along with my promo advert poster (Movie: Gravity) and character set display.
