Dolphin 4K Texture Packs

DOLPHIN 4K TEXTURE PACKS
In the modern age of gaming using emulators to play games from older generations
of hardware has become common place.
However the game's visuals don't really hold up after even just a few years of
visual improvements.
While the game can be rendered in resolutions exceeding the screen sizes we have
available today the textures are the same ones from many years ago
This results in a lot of games looking wayy more dated than what's possible.
a common solution to this is to use the Waifu2x up-scaling algorithm while this
program does an amazing job at up-scaling mid and low resolution artwork it's not
its strongest at the extremely low resolution and limited color pallets found
in video game textures.

What I've done is use image editing programs to completely redraw some textures,
use high quality official artwork along with waifu2x scaling, as well 3D modeling
software to recreate visuals made over a decade ago trying to breathe new life
into these beloved games
Mario Kart Double Dash HD
The following is a comparison of the different ways texture packs are generally handled as well as my version of the assets against the originals.
With the karts and items I used renders from promotional material and strategy guides for the game.
Melee HD Render Recreation
A lot of companies and artists will almost exclusively use renders from newer smash games or cutouts made from in game screenshots using an emulator, my goal was to recreate the promotional and the renders seen in game at a higher resolution so artists would have a much better resource to pull from.
These are interpreted from what little is shown and attempts to match them as close as possible while also improving the general pose for the context of a full body image.
You can download the full renders here

Tastunoko VS Capcom
Tatsunoko VS Capcom is quite a interesting title, being a fully fleshed out capcom VS title exclusive to the Nintendo Wii. This had limited it's audience somewhat, given the huge audience of Marvel VS Capcom it's strange that they would limit the amount of reach this game could obtain. In recent years it has been given somewhat of a revival as one of the FGC's endless amount of "poverty games"
Most interesting to me is how the community moved from original hardware to Emulation for better streaming quality as well as compatibility with modern fight sticks.
Whats interesting about this pack is how because everything was ran through Waifu2x you can see how much having even a slighting higher quality asset can produce much better results than trying to upscale a low quality one
My main goal is completely re-scaling the main HUD elements.
The community HD pack was a simple W2X upscale of everything in game
I would assume that they might not use these in tournaments for performance
reasons but if I'm wrong
Focusing mainly on in game text as well as character art means there is nearly
800 textures to recreate
