Exhibition Design Model

Interactive Map to present data from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Timeline for the global eradication of polio

Video monitors to display the history of polio, vaccine development, and eradication efforts

Interactive kiosks will display specific country information for countries such as India, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Chad, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo that have been the focus of recent eradication efforts

Initial Arduino prototypes

Exploring sensor technology with the Arduino protoypes

Arduino prototype using buttons as the user interface to control LED lights for the interactive kiosks

LED lights controlled by the Arduino prototype would highlight cases of polio against a map of a selected country, in this case, Pakistan. Pakistan continues to be an area where polio remains endemic. Continued political stability and conflict in the border ares with Afghanistan have severely hampered safe access to children to administer vaccinations. In addition, in key high-risk areas, children often do not receive adequate dosages of OPV (oral polio vaccine).
