'Matter of the Heart' was influenced by 'Saimdang, Memoir of Colors' a Korean Series which could be regarded as a Master Class for any artist.
In all my digital work I incorporate fragments of physical artwork. They are prepare drawings - or mixed media - which I photograph for future use. My library of these hand marks is now considerable.
Today I prepared 4 new drawings using black ink and a calligraphy brush + a few other unusual mark making tools to create a variety of textures. My aim was to use the free approach I had seen in some of the film. I think the process I used for the drawings has influenced this experimental piece.
