Such is Life
In this video, I a female artist make an origami lily; a symbol of purity, feminity and transience. The video makes use of two cameras, one to show the overall creation of the flower, the other to show the delicate intricacies. The video slowly zooms into the flower as it nears completion, however just as the lily has had a chance the bloom, it is destroyed. This video is a metaphor of my personal experience, growing up into a young adult in a western society. At a young age we are taught to work hard and follow our dreams, however as we mature we realise that 'such is life'. Our race, beliefs or in this case gender can be the difference between success and disappointment.
