I've always found easy and pretty difficult at the same time to make friends. I am this person, who let the emotional decide first, almost every time. Empathy is something that you can grown inside your heart. These past weeks, two experiences touched my heart in particular.
The first one, I was just editing and sending emails in that morning, and this little girl, with big eyes, holding paper and crayons to draw, without speaking a word, approaches me and simply stays there, looking at me and smiling. I asked her: "do you want to join me here?" — and she said yes just by moving her head and we shared the same table. I noticed how many times she was staring and smiling at me while she was drawing. That moment touched my heart, for real. How simple is for us to make friends and share moments when we don't know how fear, hate, shame and more negative feelings work in real life.
The second experience was on this boat here. This lady, was looking at me, without I even notice, while I was taking this photo. Then, just a couple seconds after I finished this, she approaches and say: "Hi... I saw you taking photos, I actually want to start photography, can you give me a quick advice on what camera should I buy?" — the lady was around her 50s. She said "I should've started younger, I know". I saw on that woman's eyes how important was to talk with a stranger like me about something that she wanted. You see, empathy is not that hard in the end of the day. We learn with the people we help. We feel somehow complete.
Humans should be always this easy.
