Photography I – Portraits
I wanted to capture emotion in my portraits and keep that as a theme throughout the set of portraits. My classmate’s portrait is of confidence. My brother’s portrait is anger and angst, teenagers being angsty and hormonal. Pet portrait is happiness to be out eating grass, being out and about. My self-portrait I wanted to capture the emotion of strength and fear at the same time. I wear a mask to show strength and to hide my fear and fragility, so what better way to show that then to show the mask. At first, I tried at QUT Gardens Point to get the stranger portrait and the first five people I asked said no and that kind of shook my confidence, so I decided to try something else, I went to an event of my brothers and was able to get my stranger portrait. The stranger portrait portrays awkwardness and happiness cause she was at a party.
