This collage series was created after a road trip from Austin to Los Angeles. On the way back from L.A., I had planned a stop in Tuscon to visit the aircraft graveyard there. I didn't have much luck in seeing as many mothballed planes as I would've liked, but the nearby Pima Air & Space Museum had over 300 aircraft on display in its yard. I took hundreds of photos with my iPhone, and spent time retouching some of the images later. That, coupled with my collection of ephemera from my late aunt's insurance agency in south Louisiana, as well as other pieces I found in garage and estate sales, became the raw materials and subject matter for these collages. They were all hand created on masonite.
