"A Butterfly's Shadow" music video

A music video I directed and edited for the song "A Butterfly's Shadow" by my band Suzaku Avenue.
The lyrics of the song are about that moment when you become an adult, and you realise that your childhood is over and you’re only going to get older and more frail and infirm from now on, so I tried to reflect that theme in the music video. I was inspired by movies like Jacob’s Ladder, The Blair Witch Project and Saving Private Ryan in achieving the particular “look” of the video and the editing techniques I used.

To achieve the effect of the video, I filmed the singer miming the lyrics of the song in front of a green screen, then repeated the process with the singer's father and grandfather. I then used morphing in AfterEffects to make the singer appear to transform into his father and grandfather.
