Track the Yeezy
Rapper, producer, fashion designer, and entrepreneur. We are talking about Kanye West himself. While working for MediaMonks, adidas asked us to design an internal design sharing tool for designers working on the Yeezy collection.
adidas Yeezy Tracking Tool
Using the adidas Yeezy Tracking Tool, designers are able to send and share their Yeezy sneaker ideas among each other. This way everyone at the Yeezy team will be up to date regarding the process of a specific sneaker design. Employees are able to see the status of a design, respond to it and add comments. MediaMonks was asked to structure the big amount of data into a clean, functional platform. sebaas was responsible for the design and the information flow. The entire platform is made up of modules and flexible elements like headers and tables that will dynamically be combined into different shapes and forms.
Stylesheet
By taking the adidas brand into account and use it as an example, sebaas tried to make the design first of all very functional and then transformed it into a good looking stylesheet. The entire platform is divided into different segments using the contrasts ‘Pure White’ and ‘Pure Black’. On top of that, The user’s attention will be drawn using the spot color ‘adidas blue’.
Flexible layout elements
adidas wanted the platform to be very flexible. Therefore, it’s structure is build by different dynamic interface elements. Using a few rules, all the elements can work together as one positioned on different page types. Headers will always be communicating the location of the user and tables underneath the sub-headers will display the information and structure the content.
Internal launch
adidas will use its Tracking Tool at first within the Yeezy brand. In the future, one is thinking about extending it further throughout the different subbrands and using it as part of their main design flow. Which means, it will be a standard tool to use for designers within the adidas company.
