From My Window
the world visits
Much photography is the result of travels but some involves just being still and seeing. This project is about being in one place for decades but seeing it through fresh eyes each day. It is about the richness of things that come to us.
Most people are on the world, not in it having no conscious sympathy or relationship to anything about them undiffused, separate, and rigidly alone like marbles of polished stone, touching but separate.

John Muir (1838-1914), U.S. naturalist.
Quoted in: John of the Mountains (Linnie Marsh Wolfe ed.; 1938).
