For this project for a computer graphics class, I re-designed the cover of a work of non-fiction, Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer. The original looks like this. I was required to keep all original text elements, but was allowed to interpret the book however I chose. I was inspired by the sentiments of aloneness and the harsh, uncaring force of nature, which translated best with a very simple (fittingly) composition, using Univers and left alignment. The photography is not my own and I intend no copyright infringement as it was used for educational purposes without profit.
