After a class in digital illustration left me despising digital painting as a medium, I took matters into my own hands and decided that one bad experience should not dictate my entire outlook on the medium. So during the summer of 2018 I challenged myself to create this self portrait (all done with the round brush in Adobe Photoshop) with the goal of falling back in love with digital painting. Needless to say, this was a success.

I had visited the Dream Machine with a friend in Brooklyn in the beginning of summer, and she took a picture of me that looked like this painting for the most part. That picture ended up being my reference photo to create the painting. As mentioned above, I sketched and painted it using the round brush tool in Photoshop. It took around a couple weeks to complete on top of two internships.
