he painting, “A poisoned chalice”, is about my short lived dream of becoming a doctor. I came to UST to pursue medicine, but applied for fine arts, because I thought it was easier than med. BUT ITS NOT. That line, “akala ko magaling na ako eh, marunong lang pala”, was so true. Yet, I loved it all, it was good stress. Because I was poisoned by the magic and glamour of the college art world. Where everybody loves and/or can draw but in everyone’s self portrait, you see the different fruits of their labor. Yet we are all similar in our passion and eccentricities that make us artists, Ive come to learn this after 4 years in University. But now its time to fly away from this art intoxication, to pursue my juvenile version adulthood. Though this will require professionalism and responsibilities, I will forever be poisoned by the oddity that is art.
