This piece depicts the raw horror of Alzheimer’s disease as my grandfather suffers from it. He is portrayed as being a part of a chair as he sits on the same chair all day, while his memory fades away. Loss of memory is shown by black smoke emerging from his head containing images of his now forgotten family. Bright colours on his face and smoke contrast how joyful he was with the darkness the disease brought. The figure’s sad eyes fixated on the viewer make the piece emotive.
