This project is for a tropical themed restaurant called Paradise Eatery. The inspiration for the company's mark is the flamingo, which was utilized as a way to convey the type of restaurant as well as the location.
Above are some of the various concepts that were considered while thinking about a concrete representation of the animal and moving through a more abstract representation. The colors and defining features of the flamingo were the primary influence for these concepts.
After considering the various concepts and their shapes and forms, Cochin was selected for to pair with the mark. This font was selected due to the parallels between the curves of the mark and the letterforms, as well as the sharpness of the serifs and the points of the mark.
Many different variations of the combination mark were created, such as those above, before selecting the final version. The mock ups below feature products used by the company.
The mockup of Paradise Eatery below was utilized to show the café-like environment and mimic the coloration seen in many seafront homes and businesses.
