“Pa negre il.lustrat means, literally ‘illustrated black bread’ which, as an illustrator, captured my heart right from the start. I found this type of bread created by Triticum Bread Lovers at Moritz Store in Barcelona. It is meant to evoke a XVII century feeling, when breads incorporated spices and fruits. It contains mostly candied orange, spices and high quality flour. A great discovery which prompt me to make these illustrations and even some vintage lettering. 

The illustrations were painted with a mixed media technique using watercolours, coloured pencils, white gouache and graphite.
