Street and Park Boulevard Range

Street and Park Boulevard Range

Street and park furniture were a small family owned business that made reproduction/copies of old style furniture. ARID was engaged to design a number of individual pieces of furniture to suit specific customer requirements. ARID continued to work with street and park over a number of years designing and building master models of various individual pieces of furniture until a city council asked for a new range to be designed specifically for a new civic park. ARID was asked to help with some preliminary sketches and ideas, ARID prepared a brief suggesting that proper research and design approach be adopted. The proposal was accepted and research revealed ergonomic improvements along with improved safety and installation requirements. After completing detailed design drawings ARID went on to complete full sized functional models, the models allowed the design team to evaluate, improve and refine the design quickly and efficiently. The final design models were used as master production patterns in the manufacturing processes. When complete the Boulevard range was accepted for use in the Sydney 2000 Olympic village, the value of the Street and Park Company was significantly increased and subsequently sold for a significant profit, The Boulevard range was awarded a design institute award of merit.
