Because I have lived in the Pearl River Delta since childhood, both Chinese and Cantonese are my native language. 
In these years, I can feel the process of Cantonese fading.I have found that Cantonese swearing has a subtle change in the process of fading. On the one hand, for those who do not understand Cantonese, cause the influence of HongKong  Movie,they may can speak a few words of swearing . for many people, the first impression of Cantonese is also swearing.

For the local young people, many strange Cantonese swear words in the past have long been incomprehensible. Like me and my friends, we often lament that when we pass by the alley, just can’t understand what the old people standing on the side of the road are saying. I can only guess some of the rude but equally interesting pronunciations and words.

This is the case with spoken language, not to mention some written language. Because the network input method and simplified characters are officially affected, basically there is no trace of Cantonese swearing in the font library. And if you go a little bigger, the language of the roughest is the most popular language for normal people, and the Cantonese itself is even more difficult.

My work is also unfolding from these insights. I portrayed a deserted city. The background of the city was that it was originally a city of Cantonese. With the change of history, the usage of some beautiful and decent language was concealed. There are only a few traces of swearing, and it can be recognized by outsiders. But in fact, this is the tip of the iceberg of this language. I used the first person to match the VCR recorder to show the face of the city.

I slowly realized that the world was rapidly flattening and everything became extremely thin. Everything in the industrial society is increasingly pursuing practicality, so once it is judged to be redundant and redundant in function, it will gradually perish. 

I have no intention of criticizing the process of flattening this process. Things always have its two sides. After humans make a choice, the consequences will be weaker. I feel that what I want to express is just a worry. For some people, the loss of complexity is equivalent to losing a space to store fun, losing a rough vitality and losing the desire to express. When the world's standards of all things and things are single, people will probably forget that the world is the king of twins.
