3D Design: Order and Chaos

Order and Chaos Sculpture
Culminating Project
The Final Project was the culmination of different ideas.  I used lamp shade bases as a skeleton to create the body and wrapped fabric around it and fastening the parts together with wire and hot glue.  The piece was hung, and was able to swivel.
Prototypes
These prototypes represent the final sketch of what create.  As aforementioned, during critique we brainstormed on different materials to accomplish my goals.  We eventually conceded to using lampshades as a base, and use wire to lash it all together.  both of these prototypes were meant for a better visualization for the end goal.
This is the initial prototype, and it fell apart in transit to critique.  This design was roughly what the idea I wanted to pull off was (very simplified), but it didn't work out how I wanted.  During critique we had to brainstorm and figure out what materials would be best to accomplish what I wanted, which will be discussed below.
Rapid Prototypes
The rapid prototypes were interesting to make.  Interesting because trying to create art out of an abstract idea in a 3d form is quite hard to wrap my mind around because you have to be aware of the entire piece, and not just from one point of view.  The photos show different techniques I worked with, such as more of a free flowing form and more harsh representation that tried to include those free forms.
Sketches
The sketches do not display much sketching, but more thought process and ideas.  The first two images of the sketches display my initial plans and ideas for what the project was going to be, and the final image displays a more final idea.
