Every day we hear that we need to grow up. The more grown up, the better. And it is true. But it is not the whole truth, is it? Because what would the adult be without the child within? Without imagination, curiosity, and enthusiasm?!
Characters such as the ones we chose for the #growupnot project are real, they live and they die. They have been brought to life and they are kept alive by the imaginative power of our inner child, by his playfulness, his fervor for life and his yearning to make sense of it. Keep the inner child alive and these characters won’t die. This is our message, in a time of data and fast decisions and attention span disorders: take your time to be the creative child that you are. Imagine. Play.
"Marina Cordun, Senior Creative, and Radu Pose, Art Director, are working in advertising and together they have made a project whose weight is given by its lack of weight. Let's explain: #GROWUPNOT is a series of 10 commemorative plaques of fictional characters from Rocky Balboa to Peter Pan, which Marina and Radu stuck one night on the walls of some houses in the center Bucharest. An intervention in the public space without a political/social stake / etc, diaphanous and playful, appealing to the most humane pieces in us, a bit of childhood, a little ease of being applied to the walls of the city. I've come across random plaques the other day, the one evening I went back from University to Romana. They charmed me with their serenity, in a city collapsed under its own weight, in a country crushed by radicalism and hatred, in a misty and uneasy world. We're living surreal times, so nothing seems more appropriate than some characters in the movies, the books and drawings of our childhood and adolescence that sneak into the city walls to pull us off and tell us Hey, why the grim on your face?" ➻ "Here lived Alice" Article by Luiza Vasiliu | Scena9 Cultural Hotspot
