drei Wörter
This is a poster series created to enhance the hippie and massy font (with 8 different variants!) designed by my dear German friend Kira Teuber.
Three untranslatable German words are visualised by blending the many font glyphs, colourful shapes and images.
KOPFKINO (Headcinema) is what happens when you use your imagination to think of something in a very detailed way. You then lose track of time for a few seconds and really feel like you are watching a movie that is happening in your own head.
SEHNSUCHT (pining) represents thoughts and feelings about all facets of life that are unfinished or imperfect, paired with a yearning for ideal alternative experiences. It has been referred as “life’s longings”; or an individual’s search for happiness while coping with the reality of unattainable wishes. Such feelings are usually profound, and tend to be accompanied by both positive and negative feelings.
FERNWEH (Far-sickness) is a lot like wanderlust (a strong desire to wander & travel the world), but it’s different. It’s something that aches, it’s that emptiness you feel after coming home. It’s craving the new, missing culture shock and feeling adventurous at essentially every moment.
