Perspectives is an annual film festival run by students of Nanyang Technological University as a practicum offered by the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information. Since its inception in 2008, the festival has been curating films that inspire and challenge audiences.
The theme we adopted in 2012 was a bold one. The curated films shed light on the sensitive topic of sexuality (especially in conservative Singapore) and its impact on aspects of life such as love, fear, psychology and death. The films also explore deeper societal issues like tradition, gender roles and family ties.
