Oil Paint ~ 24"X30" ~ 2018

I have always been fascinated by steel work and so chose this combination for still life out of my own kitchen and set it up in my garden. I was taken away by the magic of oil colors. However to me this painting is more than just being beautiful. I realized that nothing is permanent, even the most beautiful will perish, and so we all will. Of all the hardships we go through, we must outshine the world with our goodness while we still have time.

Pencil ~ 12"X16" ~ 2017

The standing still shadow the bottle in composition inspired me to attempt this still life in pencil. I was amazed by the rich gray of lead. While attempting this still life in real environment, I learnt about the shadows and its importance to determine the position of object.

Oil Paint Reverse - 12"X16" ~ 2017

I wanted to attempt quick still life in oil paint in live environment.  So instead of mixing 1:1 ratio of lincid oil and turpentine oil, I chose more of turpentine oil. I made the drawing with the back tip of brush. I made this still life with reverse technique wherein I used cloth and cotton bud to remove oil color to get shades and shadows.
