Challenge:
How does Sanlam sell the benefits of multiple products to multiple audiences in a single hard-working campaign?

Insight:
If we could give ourselves advice on some of the important things in life, there’s a lot we could learn and potentially do differently.
Especially when it comes to our finances.

Solution:
Introducing Conversations with yourself; a series of films and digital content that centres on one man at six different ages as he chats candidly with his “other selves” about the life he’s lived. We used our character to tap into the mindset of each age and created scenarios that many audiences could relate to in order to land the importance of making the right financial decisions.

not only relevant to different life stages, but also to the set of Sanlam products and benefits.

Introducing the first-ever interview of its kind.

One man. Being interviewed at three different ages. At the same time.  

We got two of South Africa’s biggest radio hosts to play along, as we staged an interview unlike no other. Our DJs interviewed one man, at age 20, 50 and 80. And what the listeners heard was our actors jumping seamlessly from one age to another, allowing the audience to suspend their disbelief. And they didn't just have to rely on their ears. They could check out photographic 'proof' in the form of the pic we posted online in real time, just in case they needed a little more convincing.

We created a bespoke and dynamic homepage for desktop and mobile which introduces our six characters and invites the visitor to engage in the conversation. Each “age” takes the user to a dedicated landing page related to that particular life stage and financial product.
