Personal Project - 2018

"Random things" is a collection of resurrected ideas that were once shadowed by overthinking.

Based on the “no idea is a bad idea” mantra, I wanted to create a project that encapsulates some of my previously scrapped ideas, along with some which are new, some that are older, but most of which I thought were not interesting enough, or that they had lacked the concept to be considered "finished illustrations”.

I’ve gathered all of these sketches under the same aesthetic style and tried to give each of them the same importance and value as a symbol of bravery for those of whom are afraid of expressing themselves and speaking their minds, or have a fear of being criticized.

The technique is a mixture of ink on watercolor paper combined with digital coloring in adobe photoshop, using a total of six opaque colors.

Some are more realistic and others more cartoonish as I have always been inspired by cartoons and vintage comic representations, so in these works I make a more direct reference to such.
