The image is inspired on the beatiful etching by Giovanni Battista Piranesi, the "Imaginary reconstruction of the ancient Via Appia and Via Ardeantina". That project is the first of three and it was done for the thesis of my M.A. in Accademia Albertina in Turin.
The hardest part was modeling and texturing by myself hundreads of different objects; also making seamless textures, rigging and posing charachters, simulating and retopologizing clothes and setting trees, ivy and grass required a lot of time.
