VIERNES(ES) DE ILUSTRACIÓN
Illustration Fridays consist of drawing an illustration according to the theme chosen by an illustrator/designer.
2018
This was my proposal for September 7, 2018; the theme being video games and the game I chose was Bioshock.
The people who know me know that I do not play but I recently introduced myself to the world of games and I have been amazed by so many things from it, both from stories and from art. And within the games I've known I fell completely in love with Bioshock and that's why I made this illustration of a Big Daddy.
The theme of Friday, October 5, 2018 was Mexican monsters. Reviewing a nice Bestiary of Mexican Fantastic Beings by Norma Muñoz Ledo and Israel Barrón I came across the sirens or mermaids and who was going to say that they were considered Mexican monsters. Accompanied by a beautiful text inspired me a little to make a quick illustration and is the following.
For November 2nd, 2018 the theme could not be other than Todos Santos Día de Muertos. Many understand that I am Mexican, however, I have all my life here and over the years, he has understood and appreciated more is a beautiful holiday that is the Day of the Dead (Todos Santos). On the outside, I see the process, love, and dedication on these dates and apart from my weakness for the pan de muerto and chocolate, I found a weakness for family anecdotes and the mixture of colors, smells, and traditions.
For December 14, the theme was the 90th anniversary of Mickey Mouse. For this illustration I made young Mickey and old Mickey.
2019
Starting the year with the theme of robots, on January 25 I published this tin robot, in commemoration of the classic mechanical robots or walking radar robots that are remembered with love, either because they were present in our childhood or because we got to see them around. Based on one of the most famous brass toys I made this illustration.
