Multi Purpose Exoframe II
In future years, when our presence in space has expanded to other planets, astronauts will need new technologies to be able to both in the cold emptiness of space and on the surfaces of other planets without coming into contact with the outside world. The Multi Purpose Exoframe, Astral, will allow astronauts to work in the extremes of other atmospheres and in zero gravity without hindrance or difficulty.
Fitted with ball joints on every connection, the Astral exo-frame is surprisingly nimble for its size. With 4 independently controllable fingers on each 'hand', astronauts are able to grab and hold objects as if they were using their own hands. This allows them perform sensitive operations in deep space and on alien worlds without incredible accuracy.
The canopy of Astral is built to withstand the largest of impacts from space debris and is environmentally controlled so astronauts within the suit can survive even the harshest of Martian storms. Vibration and inertial dampeners are located within the seat's base, and with multiple attachment points for the safety harness, pilots are well protected from any impacts which may occur.
Due to the technological complexity of the suit, multiple screens and analogue buttons are both required for full control. Screens are used for both dial readouts and fine controls, whilst buttons and switches are used for basic on / off functions, similar to modern day aircraft cockpits.
