It became very clear from the beginning that in order to celebrate this particular couple, a very non-traditional, unconventional invitation design would be more in keeping with their unique, free-spirited style. Knowing Rob and Katie well, we let their personalities inform the visual outcome. We thought of them as lovebirds – two free souls who previously flew apart, yet eventually landed on the same branch. The design was intended to capture the couple’s individual and combined personalities: Rob - vintage flair, traditional, old soul, unique. Katie - exciting, fun, fancy, unique. All of these elements were tied nicely together into a proverbial, matrimonial knot. In a very engaging, light-hearted way, playful graphics were used to encourage guests to join in helping the new couple “build their nest together.”
