My first editorial story (2005) for the german issue of "Men's Health" was about the versatility of german national soccer player Patrick Owomoyela. In his youth Owomoyela learned to play keeper, switched to basketball and later went into professional football as a player who soon got known for his quickness, speed and his agility. He played as an allrounder (Defender, Winger, Midfielder) within three Teams in the Bundesliga earning the national cup with Werder Bremen in 2006 and two championships with Borussia Dortmund in 2011 and 2012.

 

We photographed Owomoyela on Mallorca, the photos were taken by Gary Engel, the text was provided by Oliver Bertram. I did art direction, production and layout.
