Passing Humanity
Inspired by Hiroshi Sugimoto’s photo style, I have chosen the main direction of this project: the reflection of the fleetingness of human life. In his works, Sugimoto often resorts to the help of high exposure, blurred focus, geometric spaces and unusual contrast light, which I tried to reflect in my own work. The technical side of the process consisted in shooting people against the background of the city at an exposure of 2-3 seconds, which allowed to get a static architecture and moving dynamic shadows on its background. This technique was designed to demonstrate how human life itself is subtle for the world around us. However, what we create lives much longer. The humanity itself is just a blur on the background of buildings and the world we create with our own hands.
