Following the series of characters for my "deck of stories" project i proceeded to illustrate and try to represent a canonic prince and princess duo.
Initially i wanted to design their character following the more traditional way of drawing their faces and bodies, but i had a lot more fun in conveying these characters in a indirect way.
For the "Prince" i immediatly thought about the classic tale of the "Frog Prince" of the Grimm's Brothers and chose a royal frog as one of the subject.

The second one is the "Princess". I immediatly gone for the "tower" theme because some of the most iconic princesses (or noble female figures) have been connected to the image of a tower. We start to the well known "Rapunzel" again of the Grimm's Brother to the "Lady of Shallott".
