IT WAS A HUGE ABSURD BIT OF ANARCHY, REALLY

The book investigates the story of the english group of travelers called Mutoid Waste Company founded by the artist Joe Rush in the middle of the 80’s. In particular the book tells the story of Mutonia, a camp in Santarcangelo di Romagna, Italy, occupied by the group in the 1990 and today become a recognized space for contemporary art by the italian state.
The books is divided between two different photographic material:
- bw photos taken by german photographer Uli Happe in the 1990 at the arrive of the group in Santarcangelo,
- color photos taken by the fours adolescents born and raised in Mutonia with Kodak disposable cameras in the year 2017.

The photos accompanied by citations extracted from interviews with Ninawa, Josie, Molly and Robbie tell the evolution of an utopian place where a community show how is possible find a different way of living in the modern society, where art, sharing and nature became the foundations for a new generation.
